instagram transcript generator

Paste a public Instagram Reel or video-post link below. Generate a readable transcript, review the words, then copy them or download a TXT file. No account needed.

01 / YOUR VIDEO LINK

Start with one video.

A link-format check cannot confirm that a post is public or contains speech. We check the actual media only after you generate.

One video · 5 minutes · 8 MB retrieved media

Five retrieval attempts per visitor per UTC day, 60 across the site. Failed retrievals count. Shared service allowances can stop requests earlier. These are the same limits as the homepage, not a second allowance.

Transcription attempts started in this tab: 0. Rejected link formats do not start an attempt.

02 / YOUR TRANSCRIPT

The words arrive here.

  1. Retrieve media
  2. Recognize speech
  3. Text ready

One path from a public link to usable text

  1. Paste the individual video link. The form explains whether its shape is supported. It does not scan an entire profile or accept a Story as a Reel.
  2. Generate the transcript. The service retrieves media and recognizes its spoken audio. Processing messages come from the actual request; there is no invented completion percentage.
  3. Review and use the words. You can edit the returned text, copy the current version, or download it as TXT. Changing the source link clears the previous result so it cannot be mistaken for the new video.

This is the same cloud transcription service as our original tool, with a more explicit input gate and visible processing stages. It does not add translation, speaker identification, timed subtitles, private-content access, or a new quota.

Ten input checks we actually ran

On October 31, 2026, we executed the URL-preflight module used by this form against ten constructed input cases. Three returned FORMAT_OK; seven returned a specific rejection code. These results concern URL shapes only. We did not retrieve media for these test cases, and an accepted shape does not establish that a post exists, is public, contains a video, or has audible speech.

You can repeat the classification by pasting each example into the input field above without pressing Generate. For a rejected shape, pressing Generate leaves the attempt counter unchanged. For an accepted shape, pressing Generate starts a real request and may use the shared allowance. The invented Example12345 identifiers are format fixtures, not recommended videos to transcribe.

Download the inputs and actual preflight results (JSON) to inspect the exact messages and normalized request URLs. The form and the published cases use the same input-check module.

LOCAL CASE 01

Reel with tracking parameters

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXZz_ZDDT0h/?igsh=sample#section

Format accepted · FORMAT_OK

Link format accepted. Public access, video type and spoken audio are checked only after you generate. Tracking parameters and fragments are omitted.

The Reel path remains; the query and fragment are omitted. This check alone does not retrieve media.

LOCAL CASE 02

Video-post link shape

https://instagram.com/p/Example12345/

Format accepted · FORMAT_OK

Link format accepted. Public access, video type and spoken audio are checked only after you generate. Tracking parameters and fragments are omitted.

The path is accepted as a post candidate. A syntactically valid post can still be a photo, private, deleted, or inaccessible.

LOCAL CASE 03

Mobile Reels link shape

https://m.instagram.com/reels/Example12345/

Format accepted · FORMAT_OK

Link format accepted. Public access, video type and spoken audio are checked only after you generate. Tracking parameters and fragments are omitted.

The hostname becomes www.instagram.com; the supported Reels path and identifier remain. This constructed identifier is not claimed to exist.

LOCAL CASE 04

Empty field

(empty field)

Stopped before generation · EMPTY

Paste one full public Instagram Reel or video-post link.

The generator asks for a full individual-video link. It does not begin a transcription attempt.

LOCAL CASE 05

Profile instead of a post

https://www.instagram.com/sample_profile/

Stopped before generation · PROFILE

This is a profile link. Open the individual Reel or video post and copy its link.

A profile is not one video. The message asks the visitor to open a specific Reel or post before trying again.

LOCAL CASE 06

Story link

https://www.instagram.com/stories/sample_profile/1234567890/

Stopped before generation · STORY

Stories are not supported here. Copy a public Reel or single-video post link instead.

Stories are outside this generator’s supported scope. The page names that restriction before a media request begins.

LOCAL CASE 07

Look-alike external hostname

https://instagram.com.example.org/reel/Example12345/

Stopped before generation · HOST

Use a direct instagram.com link, not another website or a redirect service.

The hostname is not Instagram. Matching a word inside another hostname is not enough to accept a link.

LOCAL CASE 08

HTTP instead of HTTPS

http://www.instagram.com/reel/Example12345/

Stopped before generation · HTTPS_REQUIRED

Use an HTTPS Instagram link. No request was started.

The visitor is asked for the HTTPS link. The page does not quietly follow an insecure or redirected version.

LOCAL CASE 09

Missing post identifier

https://www.instagram.com/reel/

Stopped before generation · MISSING_ID

The post identifier is missing. Copy the complete link to the individual video.

The Reel path has no identifier. The visitor gets a specific request to copy the entire link.

LOCAL CASE 10

Extra embed path

https://www.instagram.com/reel/Example12345/embed/

Stopped before generation · PATH

This link shape is not supported. Use a direct /reel/ID/ or /p/ID/ video link.

The embed suffix is not an accepted input shape here. The visitor is directed to the regular video link rather than receiving a generic failure.

Why a passed format check can still fail

Case 2 is intentionally allowed through as a post-shaped candidate. The URL alone does not tell this page whether the post contains spoken video or only a photo. Case 3 tests a supported mobile hostname and path, not a known public recording. Keeping those results labelled as format checks avoids turning a local parser decision into a false promise of successful transcription.

Cases 4 through 10 stop locally with an instruction tied to the input. A Story is described as unsupported; a profile is described as the wrong level of link; a missing identifier asks for the complete post URL. None of those messages claims to have checked Instagram or diagnosed the account behind the link.

In case 1, the query and fragment are removed from the request URL while the Reel identifier is retained. This reduces unrelated sharing parameters in the submitted address. It does not remove access restrictions or make an otherwise inaccessible post public. No result is cached as a substitute for a later request.

What happens when generation cannot finish?

The result field stays empty and copy/download remain unavailable. The page displays the actual service error rather than filling the space with example text. A failed retrieval can count toward the allowance even though no transcript was returned. Format rejections happen earlier and do not start a transcription attempt.

Can I use the transcript as an exact quote?

Automatic recognition can miss names, negatives, overlapping voices, or context. Replay important passages before reusing them. Our quote-review guide shows what to check.

What does the TXT download contain?

It contains the current transcript text, including your edits. It has no verified caption timings. For optional file-delivery checks, use the TXT export checker.

Do you keep a transcript history?

This page keeps its current result in the open tab, not a searchable account library. Reloading clears it. A file you downloaded remains on your own device. Only submit videos you own or are authorized to process.
